A very rare under glaze blue decorated porcelain  bowl, decorated in the doucai manner with 'dovetailed' over glaze green, iron red and yellow enamels.

This item was made in China, in the first half of the 19th Century, in the Imperial kilns, for the court of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850).

There is another Daoguang example illustrated in "Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection", published 1983 by The Chinese University of Hong Kong, page 58, fig. 27.

For similarly decorated bowl, made for the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735), see Lot 452 Sotheby's London 9 & 10 November 2005.

Condition: there are a number of small, mostly minute, inside rim chips (for the largest please view enlargement 6) and there is old surface wear; there are no cracks and there has been no restoration.

Provenance: formerly property of Lieutenant Colonel K. Vernon Jones of the Royal Army Medical Corps.

清道光 斗彩忍冬纹莲子碗

青花碗上绘有绿色、红色和黄色釉。碗底有六字篆书款“大清道光年制”。

品相:碗内沿有极细微的磕碰(见图6),表面有因年久造成的磨损。没有裂痕,无修复。 直径10.2厘米。
