#0360 Fine Huang Yang Mu (Boxwood) Carved Figure by Jing Fu (China) , active 1912-1949 **Sold** through Christies King Street, November 2012

Only 1 left in stock

A very finely carved Huang Yang ("Boxwood") figure group depicting Lu Xing, one of the three Daoist Star Gods. On the back is carved the seal mark of Jing Fu who was active in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) and who was the first student of the famous Huang Yang wood carver Zhu Zichang. There is a very similar carving by Jing Fu in the collection of Wen Zhou Museum, Zhejiang Province - we will be happy to email a link to the carving in the museum on request.

Condition - very good - it is lacking its original stand; there are two small chips to the base (back) and an age crack to the left of Lu Xing's foot (please view enlargement 8). Additional pictures are available on request.

17cm (6.7inches) high.
