A porcelain coffee cup or 'can' decorated in underglaze blue and overglaze iron red in a style inspired by the export wares shipped from the port of Imari in Japan.
This item was made in Jingdezhen, soutern China, for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735).
Condition: there is wear to the overglaze gilding, particularly on the brown dressed rim and there is a small area of production glaze loss to the handle; there are no chips or cracks and there has been no restoration.
