A fine soapstone carving of Shou Lao - the star god of longevity -standing on rockwork with lingzhi fungus and holding a peach. This item retains much of its original painted decoration and was probably made during the 19th Century.

Condition - the index (first) finger on his left hand has been repaired or restored, there is an old chip to the trouser bottom behind the left foot and there are the usual natural flaws.

8.3 inches (21cm) High.
