A cloisonne enamel plaque or large dish depicting a finch amongst peony and convulvulus flowers. This item was made for export in Japan during the Meiji period (1868-1911).

Condition - good overall - there is surface wear but no damage to the interior. Most of the gilding to the rim has worn away and there is an area of enamel loss (impact damage) to the footrim. No further damage and no restoration.
