#0026 Rare 18thCentury Chinese Soapstone Carving - Liu Hai **Sold**to USA Oct 07 售至美国 - 2007年10月
Only 1 left in stockA rare very well carved soapstone sculpture of Lui Hai in traditional pose ensnaring the three -legged toad with a string of cash. This item was made circa 1750 - 1800 during the reigns of either the Qianlong or the Jaiqing Emperors.
Cundition: The tip of one finger is missing and there is an old glued repair - most visible on the upper foot. Little of the original paintwork is now visible.
Height - 7.5 inches (19cm).

#0326 Rare 17th Century Chinese Soapstone Carving 'Hehe Erxian' **Sold** to Taiwan - May 2011 售至台湾 - 2011年5月
Only 1 left in stockA rare 17th Century (probably late Ming) carving of the Hehe Erxian - the Twin Immortals of Union and Harmony - in typical pose, one holding a basket and the other holding its 'contents' - a bat a symbol of happiness.
Condition - good - there are natural cracks and flaws to the stone but no damages or losses.
6.5 inches (16.5cm) long; 4.5 inches (11.5cm) high.

#0009 18th Century Chinese Boxwood Figure 'Damo' - Sold to China - April 2012 售至中国 - 2012 年4月
Only 1 left in stockA large exceptionally well carved Huang-Yang ("boxwood") sculpture of Damo seated in meditation on a rockwork base. This item is probably made in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). For similar much smaller example, ref. Christies's 'Art D'Asie', Paris, 7 Dec 2007, lot 256.
Condition: excellent, no chips or losses, just age related cracks on the base and head.

#1026 Rare 18th/19th Century Chinese Carved Hardwood Sculpture - Hehe Erxian **Price on Request 售价待询**
Only 1 left in stockA rare, very well patinated, hardwood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the twin Daoist Immortals of Unity and Harmony - the Hehe Erxian. One is holding a lotus leaf and bud; the other holds a bat. This item was made, circa 1780-1820, during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperor. For a very similarly carved and decorated group of six of the Eight Daoist Immortals please view those in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago (illustrated on page 115 in "The Arts of China after 1620" by William Watson & Chuimei Ho, published in 2007 by the Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-073933).
Condition: excellent - there are very minor chips to the front corners of the base; no further damages and no repairs or restoration.46cm (18 inches) high; 21.5cm (8.5 inches) wide.

同类木雕,请参见美国芝加哥菲尔德博物馆藏木雕八仙中的六位 (《1620年后的中国艺术》中第115页插图,William Watson & Chuimei Ho,2007年耶鲁大学出版社出版,ISBN号0-300-073933)。<br>
品相:很好。只有底座前方有几处小磕,无其他损伤、修补、或修复。<br>

#0294 Rare Mid 18th Century Chinese Enamel Wine Ewer Qianlong **Sold to China - March 2011 售至中国 - 2011年3月**
Only 1 left in stockA rare and very well painted enamel wine ewer - with documentary decoration in Chinese taste possibly depicting the story of the Daoist Immortal Lu Dong Bin. This item was made circa 1740 during the reign of the Qianlong emperor.
Condition - there is an 18th Century iron replacement handle; there are surface marks and there are enamel losses around the finial on the cover( enlargement no.6) and to the tip of the spout (enlargement no.1). There is a 0.5cm impact enamel loss to the lower part of the back panel (please see enlargement no. 3).

稀有且画工精良的酒壶,壶身饰人物故事纹,似道家神话人物吕洞宾。此品制于乾隆时期约1740-1750年间。
品相:壶柄为18世纪的铁质复制品,壶面有些污点,壶盖尖顶和流嘴尖有些许釉彩脱落(见放大图6及放大图1),壶后身下部有块约0.5cm的釉彩由于磕碰而缺失(见放大图3)。壶高13cm,长13cm。 -
#0298 19th Century Chinese Wine Ewer , Tongzhi Reign (1862-1874) **SOLD to UK - January 2009 售至英国 - 2009年1月**
Only 1 left in stockA rare wine ewer, with warming pot, depicting the famous Tang Dynasty "drunken" poet Li Bai (701 - 762), with one of his best known poems and another inscribed on the warmer. Both poems are signed by the same calligrapher. This item carries the reign mark of the Tongzhi emperor (1862 - 1874)but was probably made a little later during the Guangxu reign (1875-1908).
Condition - there are chips to the edges of the warmer . There are no cracks and there has been no restoration.

19世纪诗画纹(李白诗)酒壶-同治
形制少见的酒壶,配温酒器。壶身饰唐代酒仙李白大诗人(701-762)及其名诗一首,温酒器上亦刻其诗一首,两首诗由同一书法家署名。此壶有同治(1862-1874)四字款,但估为光绪(1875-1908)时出品。
品相良好,无裂纹无修复,仅温酒器边沿有磕口(见放大图1)。壶高13.5cm,宽9cm。 -

Only 1 left in stockAn attractive Chinese soapstone carving of the Daoist Immortal Zhong Hanli. This item was made circa 1790-1820 either late in the Qianlong reign or during the reign of the Jaiqing Emperor.
Condition very good. There are natural flaws in the stone and much of the original paint can still be seen.

#0113 Rare Chinese Yellow Soapstone 'Boulder' Seal **Sold** to USA January 2008 售至美国 - 2008年1月
Only 1 left in stockA superbly carved yellow soapstone seal in the form of a boulder. The legend on the base seems to read: Hua pa chou shang yin, or "Huapa (Flowery Loquat) seal of congratulation". On one side is a design of archaic dragons sporting around a traditional emblem of wealth, the copper cash with a square hole. Three inscriptions are carved on the faces of the boulder, much as ancient inscriptions were carved on suitable rock faces in the mountains. They appear to be seven-character poems containing phrases such as "water rising in spring" "as light as a feather" "seeking new fire" "lamp for book reading" "snowy pine" etc.
Condition - excellent. The seal has been used and the characters are encrusted with old seal paste. We have been reliably informed that this item probably dates to the first half of the 19th Century c1800-1850.

一件雕刻精美的田黄石雕印章。底刻有闲章印一款。一面刻有螭龙钱币纹;另一面为三首诗:一为韩愈《左迁至蓝关示侄孙湘 》,一为王禹《清明》,及另一首佚名诗。
品相:完好。印章有使用痕迹,底部字面上留有印泥残迹。经可靠人士告知,此件应为19世纪上半期所做。高9厘米。 -
#0110 Chinese Bronze Censer Arabic Inscription Xuande mark **Sold** to Switzerland - OCT 08 售至瑞士 - 2008年10 月
Only 1 left in stockA heavy Ming style bronze censer bearing the inscription - "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his prophet". Similarly inscribed bronzes and porcelain were first made for the Imperial court during the reign of the Zhengde Emperor (1506-1521) but this item is probably later. The base carries a four character Xuande mark.
Condition - very good.

品相:很好。高7.5厘米,宽13.5厘米。
