#0009 18th Century Chinese Boxwood Figure 'Damo' - Sold to China - April 2012 售至中国 - 2012 年4月
Only 1 left in stockA large exceptionally well carved Huang-Yang ("boxwood") sculpture of Damo seated in meditation on a rockwork base. This item is probably made in the 18th century during the reign of the Qianlong emperor (1736-1795). For similar much smaller example, ref. Christies's 'Art D'Asie', Paris, 7 Dec 2007, lot 256.
Condition: excellent, no chips or losses, just age related cracks on the base and head.

#1026 Rare 18th/19th Century Chinese Carved Hardwood Sculpture - Hehe Erxian **Price on Request 售价待询**
Only 1 left in stockA rare, very well patinated, hardwood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the twin Daoist Immortals of Unity and Harmony - the Hehe Erxian. One is holding a lotus leaf and bud; the other holds a bat. This item was made, circa 1780-1820, during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperor. For a very similarly carved and decorated group of six of the Eight Daoist Immortals please view those in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago (illustrated on page 115 in "The Arts of China after 1620" by William Watson & Chuimei Ho, published in 2007 by the Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-073933).
Condition: excellent - there are very minor chips to the front corners of the base; no further damages and no repairs or restoration.46cm (18 inches) high; 21.5cm (8.5 inches) wide.

同类木雕,请参见美国芝加哥菲尔德博物馆藏木雕八仙中的六位 (《1620年后的中国艺术》中第115页插图,William Watson & Chuimei Ho,2007年耶鲁大学出版社出版,ISBN号0-300-073933)。<br>
品相:很好。只有底座前方有几处小磕,无其他损伤、修补、或修复。<br>

Condition: There is ancient damage to the fore-arms and there are also minor losses to the head (please see pictures). There are some age cracks to the base.

Condition: there are extensive losses and most of their original gilding has worn away.

Only 1 left in stockA finely carved hardwood buffalo and boys with stand made in China for export during the reign of the Guangxu Emperor (1875-1908).
Condition - the smaller boys head has been glued. There is an age crack to the back of the buffalo and a small crack to the stand. The tips of both horns are chipped (please see pictures).

#1740 Rare Chinese Carved Bamboo Boy on Buffalo, Ming Dynasty 1368-1644
Only 1 left in stockA small carved bamboo wood Boy on Buffalo. This rare object was made in China in the Ming dynasty, probably during the 16th or early 17th Century.
Condition: part of the front left hoof is missing and there is an old crack to the Buffalo's left ear; no further losses and there have been no repairs or restoration.

#0360 Fine Huang Yang Mu (Boxwood) Carved Figure by Jing Fu (China) , active 1912-1949 **Sold** through Christies King Street, November 2012
Only 1 left in stockA very finely carved Huang Yang ("Boxwood") figure group depicting Lu Xing, one of the three Daoist Star Gods. On the back is carved the seal mark of Jing Fu who was active in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) and who was the first student of the famous Huang Yang wood carver Zhu Zichang. There is a very similar carving by Jing Fu in the collection of Wen Zhou Museum, Zhejiang Province - we will be happy to email a link to the carving in the museum on request.
Condition - very good - it is lacking its original stand; there are two small chips to the base (back) and an age crack to the left of Lu Xing's foot (please view enlargement 8). Additional pictures are available on request.

一件雕工精湛的黄杨木雕“禄星”。像背面刻有“敬孚”字样署名。敬孚,民国时期温州人,为晚清著名黄杨木雕师朱子常的大徒弟。温州博物馆有一件与此非常相似的木雕,亦为敬孚所刻。此相似之例的照片,可以在温州博物馆·数字博物馆中找到(如有需要,可提供网页链接)。
品相:很好。缺底座。底部北面有两处小磕,禄星左足有一处因年代久远导致的裂纹(见图8)。如有需要,可提供更多照片。像高17厘米。 -

Condition: the silver lining is bumped and there is a crack to the base.
