#0012 Early 18thCentury Blue and White Chinese Export Teapot *SOLD* to Australia

Only 1 left in stock

An early 18th Century Chinese porcelain teapot with underglaze blue figure decoration - made for export to Europe during the reign of the Kangxi Emperor (1662 - 1722). There is a contemporary 18th century metal replacement spout. Chinese porcelain was very highly prized and, because large quantities of porcelain arrived damaged from the long shipping journey, specialist workshops were established in the UK carrying out high quality repairs. Commercial records show that these repaired items retailed for prices remarkably close to those of undamaged articles.

Condition - this item has no cover and a single crack to the handle (please see pictures). No further damages and no restoration.

4.5 inches (11.5cm) high.
