#0323 Rare 17th/18th Century Chinese Soapstone Carving of Damo, signed Shang Jun **Sold** to U.S.A., Nov. 2013

Only 1 left in stock

A rare and finely carved 18th Century Chinese "honey yellow" soapstone Luohan, probably Damo (Bodhidarma). On the back is carved "made by Shang Jun".

Condition - very good. This item was originally set with semi-precious stones but, with the exception of one white stone on the collar behind the neck, all are now missing; there are natural "flaws" intrinsic to the stone which pre-date the carving. There have been no repairs and there has been no restoration.

 9cm (3.5ins) high.
