A baluster shaped vase painted in exceptionally vibrant shades of under glaze cobalt blue depicting stylized peony flowers and flying insects within shaped panels. There is an artemesia leaf mark within a double ring on the base. This item was made in China during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722).
Condition: there is no cover and there is a Y-shaped hairline on the neck which forks 1cm from the rim and does not extend to the body (please view enlargements 6 & 7); no further damages and no restoration.
