A rare, very well patinated, hardwood carving, with silver wire inlay, depicting the twin Daoist Immortals of Unity and Harmony - the Hehe Erxian. One is holding a lotus leaf and bud; the other holds a bat. This item was made, circa 1780-1820, during the reign of either the Qianlong or Jiaqing emperor. For a very similarly carved and decorated group of six of the Eight Daoist Immortals please view those in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago (illustrated on page 115 in "The Arts of China after 1620" by William Watson & Chuimei Ho, published in 2007 by the Yale University Press, ISBN 0-300-073933).

Condition: excellent - there are very minor chips to the front corners of the base; no further damages and no repairs or restoration.

46cm (18 inches) high; 21.5cm (8.5 inches) wide.

一件雕工精美、包浆厚重的错银丝和合二仙木雕。一人持荷花枝(荷),一人左手指向有蝙蝠飞出的盒子(盒),右手持一蝙蝠。作于1780-1820年间,估为清乾隆嘉庆时期。<br>

同类木雕,请参见美国芝加哥菲尔德博物馆藏木雕八仙中的六位 (《1620年后的中国艺术》中第115页插图,William Watson & Chuimei Ho,2007年耶鲁大学出版社出版,ISBN号0-300-073933)。<br>

品相:很好。只有底座前方有几处小磕,无其他损伤、修补、或修复。<br>
