Only 1 left in stockA carved sandstone Khmer relief fragment in (Mahayana Buddhist) Angkor Wat style depicting a Buddha head under two parasols, flanked by a pair of fans and mounted on stand. This item was carved in what is now Cambodia, probably during the reign of King Jayavarman VII (1181–1215 AD).
Condition - there are chips, the edges are damaged (please view enlargements) and there is weathering and associated iron oxidation to the surface.

一件(大乘佛教)吴哥窟风格的高棉砂岩浮雕断片,用支架固定于座上。两个华盖下有一菩萨,菩萨两侧各有一蒲扇。作于现在的柬埔寨,应为阇耶跋摩七世统治时期(公元1181 - 1215年)。
品相:有缺口,边沿有些许损伤(见图),表面有风化痕迹及连带的锈斑。长56厘米,宽35厘米,厚18厘米。

#1149 Large Dayak Headhunter's War Shield from Borneo, circa 1850-1920 **Price on Request**
Only 1 left in stockAn old and larger than average soft wood Dayak war shield painted with anthropomorphic figures and faces in red, black and white pigment. This item was made during either the 19th or very early 20th Century.
Condition: very used; un-restored and un-repainted. There is much wear to the surface and edges and the decoration appears "faded". There is a very old replacement section of wood to the bottom left which appears to have been "cannibalised" from another old shield. Whilst most of the original human hair decoration is missing, on close examination a few remaining hairs can be found adhered to some of the smeared old resin glue.

Only 1 left in stockA Dayak sword - Mandau - with rattan bound deer antler handle in the form of a finely carved zoomorphic (possibly deer's) head. The iron blade is engraved with stylized scrolling vine decoration.
This item was made (and used) during either the 19th or very early 20th Century.Condition: very good, but the sword is without its scabbard and the bade has seen much use, having many nicks to the cutting edge; also much of the decorative brass inlay to the blade is missing.
Blade: 54cm (21.25 inches) long; 4.3cm at the widest part & with a maximum thickness of 1.5cm at the top of the blade.

#0169 Malayan "Kingfisher" Kris with Pamir Blade , 19th/20th Century **Sold** to Malaysia
Only 1 left in stockA rare 19th or early 20th century Malayan kris with an attractive pamir/pamor steel blade. The hilt has a (probably replacement) metal collar and a finely carved Garuda head in "kingfisher" form. The wood scabbard is decorated with engraved Straits Chinese style white metal bands depicting Buddhist emblems.
Condition: there are old losses to the 'flared' top of the scabbard and the left 'ear' of the Garuda head is missing. Unusually there is no damage to the 'nose'. The old blade is in very good condition. Total length

Only 1 left in stockAn old, probably Malaysian, keris/kris with wavy iron blade. The hilt is of typical styalized garuda head form and has a paktong metal collar. The varnished wood scabbard is decorated with repouse engraved white metal(probably silver) mounts.
Condition - good. There is a drill hole (for hanging) to the top of the scabbard and sections have been cut out of the metal mounts on the reverse side.
Total length 19 inches (48cm), blade - 15 inches (38cm).

Only 1 left in stockA large and heavy, partially gilded, Mandalay style marble Buddha finely carved in 19th Century Burma (Myanmar).
Condition: excellent and, unusually, still retaining much of its original gilding.

#1699 Nonya Enamelled Straits Chinese 'Fu Shou' Chrysanthemum Bowl, Daoguang Mark, mid 19th Century **Sold** April 2018
Only 1 left in stockA moulded porcelain chrysanthemum shaped bowl decorated on the outside in blue and white enamels with stylized scrolling lotus flowers and bats 'Fu' (good luck). Incorporated within this pattern are three overglaze red and gold 'Shou' (long life) characters. The base carries the iron red reign mark of the Daoguang emperor (1821-1850). This item was made in China, in the mid 19th Century, for export to the Malaysian "Straits" Chinese community. For similarly decorated wares please see page 58 "Straits Chinese Porcelain" by Ho Wing Meng (pub 1983) ISBN 9971 65 074 6.
Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration.
